PRESIDENT SARGSYAN PARTICIPATED AT THE RECEPTION HELD BY THE UK OFFICE OF THE HAYASTAN ALL-ARMENIAN FUND

NEW YORK, New York — President Serzh Sargsyan, who is in London on a working visit, in the evening of July 30 participated at the reception held by the UK Office of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.

During the meeting with our compatriots, the President of Armenia stressed the importance of national consolidation and coordination of the Diaspora efforts for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia and the future of the Armenian nation. “The stronger, more developed, and modern the Republic of Armenia is, the stronger and better will each Armenian living in Diaspora feel,” Serzh Sargsyan said. According to the President of Armenia, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund is a miniature of our nation and its future in the sense that the Fund has been able to unite various structures and individuals from Diaspora, with the purpose of providing through this structure the opportunity for each Armenian to serve the Motherland, partaking in our national unity. Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to all those who are working in the community or all-Armenian structures, underscoring that they deserve general respect.

The President spoke with the participants of the meeting about Armenia’s economic situation, development programs and opportunities, efficient steps taken towards the overcoming the consequences of the global financial and economic crisis. Serzh Sargsyan noted that our sisters and brothers from Spyurq can be extremely instrumental in Armenia’s development. According to the President, there are numerous Diaspora people who have been making investments in Armenia for years, developing our economy, manufacturing competitive goods, participating in the reforms carried out in the country, in its success and resolution of the existing problems. The President of Armenia stressed that the modern technologies allow to keep the life in Diaspora more dynamic, to be more united and all this should be used to its fullest extent.


ARMENIA FUND USA: founded in 1992, was one of the first of “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund’s 20 international affiliates and serves constituents in all states east of the Mississippi. As a non-profit, non-governmental, nonsectarian organization, the Fund represents all Armenian constituents, supporting strategic infrastructure projects in Armenia and Karabakh. The Fund has adopted a policy to go “Beyond Bricks and Mortar” to provide sustainability for projects it sponsors.
