The 10th International Armenia Fund Telethon campaign is underway with the Fund celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The Telethon logo features a person holding a sun. The sun is reminiscent of the ancient rock carvings from the Geghama Mountain range in Armenia. It symbolizes new life and vitality for Armenia. The new logo’s slogan “One Nation. One Future.” will be at the forefront of the campaign.
Jointly launched from Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Yerevan, the Telethon is set to air internationally on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2007. All 19 international affiliates of the Fund are part of this worldwide fundraising event which has reached bold and ambitious goals for the past 10 years.
The year 2007 marks Armenia Fund’s 15th anniversary. This adds to the momentum of the Telethon making it an unprecedented celebration of achievements. The funds raised through the Telethon will go toward another unique initiative - the Rural Development Program. This multilevel project will revitalize Armenia’s villages through the construction of schools, healthcare facilities, drinking water systems, access roads and creating economic opportunities. The program will be coordinated with the U.S. Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation and the United Nations Development Programme and all other international organizations that are currently active in Armenia’s villages.
