The Armenia Fund Rural Development Program (RDP) is at the heart of this year’s Telethon for good reason. Without the desperately needed resources to start fresh, countless rural families living in border villages will slide deeper into economic despair. As a result, more families are at risk of breaking up; more village communities are vulnerable to breaking down. Without strong societies and economies on the borders of Armenia and Karabakh, national security is compromised. That’s why Armenia Fund USA is putting these rural communities on the fast track to revitalization. With your help, we can send thousands of Armenian families a strong message that their future matters to us and to the future of the Armenian homeland. Our Mission: To turn impoverished rural communities in Armenia and Karabakh into self-sufficient economies that can contribute to the social stability of the region and the overall security of the nation.

Strategies:

• Focus on the family unit as the bedrock of all socio-economic progress.
• Put the most at-risk communities on an accelerated five-year track.
• Include “QuickStart” projects that can yield tangible results in less than one year.
• Gain cost and time efficiencies by designing projects that impact a cluster of villages.
• Implement infrastructure and human development efforts concurrently.
